Term Life Insurance
Senior Term Life Insurance
Younger members and their spouses want more low-cost life insurance so that if they die prematurely there will be sufficient funds for their children while they are growing up, for college education, to pay off debts such as a home mortgage and installment loans, or perhaps to ensure funds for the care of an aging parent.
Older members and their spouses want more low-cost life insurance so that there will be funds to take care of their spouse, to pay for final medical and funeral expenses, or perhaps to increase the inheritance for their children or grandchildren. There are two plans from which to choose.
Term Life Insurance
Members and/or spouses under 65 and children are eligible for this life insurance. It is available in $10,000 increments up to $250,000 for members and spouses, $5,000 for each child aged 6 months to 19 years (or 23 if a full-time student), and $1,000 for each child aged 15 days to 6 months, as an addition to either parent's coverage.
Evidence of insurability is required for member, spouse, and children.
Accelerated Death Benefit An insured that is terminally ill with a life expectancy of six months or less may elect to receive up to 50 percent of the amount of insurance prior to death, subject to the terms of the policy relating to that provision.
